I wrote my first book in 3rd grade. First, our teacher taught us how to write and illustrate a book. Then, a woman came to our class and showed us how to bind the books we'd written. I have been obsessed with writing books ever since. I find it amazing that some children, from a very young age, know who they are and what they want to do when they grow up.

I wanted to share my first "unofficial" book with you today because THIS FRIDAY the third book in my #ElenaRansom series is being released on Kindle. I am trying so hard to promote my book series right now because I am hoping to release my fourth book "Elena Ransom and the Lost Son" in November 2020.

We get attached to characters, don't we? Some of us get so attached that we literally scream and cry and laugh and experience EVERY. SINGLE. EMOTION with the book characters that we love.

It was SUPER IMPORTANT for me to make sure that I created characters and dialogue that tweens/teens can relate to. In fact, all of my main characters (and many of the others) are based off of real people that have been or are in my life. I want them to feel real. I want their stories to feel real.

So, what's up with this photo? It's my chicken-scratch note that I wrote many moons ago about the journey each of my main characters would take through the entire "Elena Ransom" saga. Even though I've only published 3, I'm going to eventually publish 6 so I wanted to make sure I knew the main character archetypes. In case you can't read sloppy handwriting, this reads:

For Elena the journey is FORGIVENESS
Austin is SACRIFICE
Kidd is WHOLENESS
Declan is STEADFAST HOPE/PURSUIT
Abria is LOVE
Fergie is OBEDIENCE/DUTY
Pigg is MERCY/GRACE

As an author, it's always flattering when someone reads and reviews your work. It's also flattering when someone asks if they can interview you about your work. I once did an interview with www.thereadingcornerforall.com.

I met Alex, the creator of #thereadingcornerforall, on Instagram. She read the first book in my #ElenaRansom fantasy adventure series for Tween readers (ages 10-14) even though she is not in this age range, and she has been so kind to do three reviews on Amazon (one review for each of my 3 books). Because Alex was so generous with her time, I feel like giving her the moon. Book Reviewers like Alex are helping my book publishing dreams come true.
